Social is here: real conversations, vouched humans

Pharone.com has a new place to hang out. Social is live now, and you'll find it in the top menu, right after Life. It's a place for real humans to have constructive conversations: topic boards in the spirit of the old BBS days, plus a feed of the people you follow.

What you won't find There's no algorithm deciding what you see, no ads, no emails, and no private messages. Your feed is simply the people and boards you chose, newest first.

Keeping it human To keep bots out, Social uses vouching. Everyone who already had an account starts out vouched. New members can post a few times a day, and an admin approves those posts until one vouched member vouches for them, or an admin marks them as a Verified human. Once you've been vouched and active for 30 days, you can give 2 vouches a month to people you trust.

Text first Posts are text-only for now. Links unlock a week after you've been vouched.

Tags you control Anyone who's vouched can tag posts. If there's a tag you'd rather not see, ignore it and those posts disappear for you, even when they come from people you follow.

Conversations that live and fade Posts here are short-lived on purpose. A new thread starts with 30 days. Each reply from someone else adds 3 days (one per person per day), and a thread never has more than 45 days left. Lively threads can live on for as long as people keep talking. Quiet ones fade away and are permanently deleted. There's no archive.

If something's wrong See a problem? Use the report button on any post and an admin will take a look.
